Les Innovantes seen by Janie Béïque
Ms. Béïque joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2000 as Vice-President, Legal Affairs and Corporate Secretary. In 2008, she took on the role of Senior Vice-President, New Economy and later, the role of Senior Vice-President, Natural Resources, Industries, Entertainment and Consumer Goods in the FTQ Investment sector. She was promoted in 2017 to Chief of Investments and Strategic Investment Initiatives where she was responsible for overseeing operations and defining and implementing the organization’s strategic direction with respect to investments. Prior to working with the Fonds de solidarité FTQ, Ms. Béïque was a partner at the McCarthy Tétrault law firm.
Ms. Béïque holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Université de Montréal, has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 1991 and is registered on the roll of the Order. In 2005 she was named one of Canada’s top 40 corporate lawyers under 40 by L’expert magazine and won a 2014 ZSA award in the Accomplishment and business strategy category. She has been a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors since 2012. In 2015, she earned an MBA degree from Georgetown University (US) and ESADE University (Spain). In 2016, she was named an “Innovation Leader” by the Government of Canada.
