Pierre Pilote is a partner in Gowling WLG's Montreal office. He acts as employer's counsel for various companies, advising and representing them in matters relating to labour relations, occupational health and safety, collective agreement decrees and individual contracts. He appears before both administrative and common law tribunals, particularly in matters of grievance arbitration. He is a skilled negotiator and as such, he was the chief negotiator for the Government of Quebec during the 2012 student conflict.
Pierre Pilote has developed an expertise as a strategic advisor to private companies and acts in the same capacity for governmental and paragovernmental organizations. He has also been a senior advisor to the Minister of Consumer and Corporate Affairs, the President of the Treasury Board and the Minister of Finance of Canada (1990-1993).
He is a member of the Board of Directors of Montreal International, the CAIJ and Inno-Centre. He has also been appointed by the Department of Justice and the Office des professions to act as a mentor to the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
