In 2013, Mélanie Bélec took the reins of the family business and became President of the Centre du Travailleur FH, a SME on Montreal’s South Shore that specializes in the distribution of security equipment and work clothing. From the moment she became head of the company, she gave herself two objectives: develop her team members’ talents and instill a culture of customer service that puts the client at the heart of the business strategy.
In 2019, like many companies, the SME faced profitability challenges that potentially jeopardized its activities. An Economic development organization referred her to Eric Robert, a senior business advisor, and she quickly found herself surrounded by a team of seasoned business advisors who combined their efforts, expertise and experience to get the Centre du Travailleur FH back on the right track to growth and performance.
Their involvement had an impact on many facets of the company; reviewing the financial strategy, analyzing the company brand, implementing and optimizing the ERP system, etc. Today, the SME is carrying on with the transformation of its production operations and is managing its treasury in an effective and rigorous manner.
I placed my trust in Inno-centre when, from the start of our exchanges, I felt that the business advisors understood my vision for the company and my requirements to fulfill that vision. They did not judge me. They guided me and that, that made all the difference
As someone who works tirelessly to make her vision of the SME and its growth a reality, the contributions made by Inno-centre’s advisors have allowed her to continue to dream big.
Her message to other business leaders: “Inno-centre is a precious asset to enhance your performance. Your personality and willingness are key factors if you want to achieve tangible results. Inno-centre does not seek to replace you in your responsibilities, but rather brings water to the mill of your reflections and offers realistic and feasible solutions. You are provided with the ingredients, but it is up to you to carry out the recipe.”
